Am I hired?

Okay, I had an interview after my resume was selected. The interviewer called back on told me I need to send my trainings that I received. I sent them, but they were expired (i thought the company was going to provide the training and just wanted to see if I had the classes before). She instructed me to get them updated. It costs..she called back and said she is sending my application to Human Resources and I should be hearing from then beginning of the following week (this week) if I don't hear from them by wednesday (tomorrow), to call her. She also asked again how advanced did my resignation from my current job need to be. At the end of our conversation, she mentioned that she is excited to be working with me. Does this mean that she is hiring me OR she needs approval from Human Resources first and they may not approve?

Answer:
Human resources generally does all the sign in procedures once you have been hired. If your information was being forwarded to HR, then that means you probably were hired. The way you describe it however, sorts of leaves me in doubt. I think the best thing for you to do would be to telephone them again to confirm your position. Good Luck!
need more info. what does human resources have to do with it anyway?
I do not believe you are hired. The best way to tell if you are really be considered for a position is to call your references and see if they have been contacted if they have not been contacted they are just considering you. References check are the last thing and employer does and they will not do them unless they want to hire you.
